Every first Wednesday of the month, Walker girls wear the classic senior skirts. This is a tradition that is passed down to every class. Not only is the tradition passed down, but the skirts are, too. Rising seniors get their skirts from the previous year’s seniors.
Once the senior sweatshirt recognition occurs, seniors receive their classic senior sweatshirts. These sweatshirts are a classic Walker tradition, and every class gets them. If a senior is a lifer, then the sweatshirt will say the year they started and lifer. Senior girls will wear white or grey shirts at the beginning of the year. But once seniors receive their sweatshirts, they will wear them instead.
Senior Meera Manocha got her skirt passed down from Aurora Parlotto. She was so excited to participate in the tradition she watched all the seniors before her participate in.
Another senior, Susana Angel, got her skirt from Sara Thornton and said she loves how the tradition has continued through many girls and now to her.
This tradition is important and fun for senior girls to participate in.
