Behind the scenes of SPIRIT WEEK, our Student Activities Union works tirelessly to make Homecoming a fun and interactive experience for everyone, including Spirit Week dress-up days, the pep rally, class walkouts, and more.
Each day of the week leading to HOCO, we have dress-up days to get everyone excited and involved in homecoming. This year (2024-25), we had themes such as Jersey Day, dress as your Favorite childhood movie character, dress as your Favorite Villain, and Tacky Tourist. Dress-up days are a fun and easy way to get everyone involved, and every year, people look forward to the release of the themes and planning costumes with their friends.
The grade-level walkouts are another super fun and involved way our school works for homecoming! Each class has a time slot and selects a theme and a routine. Freshmen and Sophomores get 5 minutes, Juniors get 7, and Seniors 8. It’s a lot of fun for the walkout committees to come up with different dances, and it’s equally rewarding to watch everything come together during the pep rally. Clapping, singing along, and watching your friends perform is another highlight of HOCO.
Overall, working towards all the moving parts of homecoming gets the whole school buzzing with excitement. The students are making new memories throughout the week, concluding with the Saturday homecoming dance.
