Lady Wolverines win the tournament championship!

Move over Olympic medalists: Walker Girls Varsity Volleyball win gold at the Cobb County Tournament in the silver bracket. On Saturday, August 20 the lady wolverines rivaled a variety of 6A schools including Hillgrove, Kennesaw Mountain, Osborne, and Pope, but the difference in school size had no effect on the wolverine’s skills. The players faced a close loss to Pope in their second match of the day, but that didn’t stop them from playing their best for the remainder of the games, and eventually clinching the championship for the silver bracket.

Senior captains Holland Martin and Jordan Tasman were ecstatic over the tournament win, and they are optimistic for their team to get to the state championship. Tasman says the team has “developed more talent and work ethic over the first couple weeks of the season”, and she is hopeful that the team will continue to get stronger and better with more practice. Martin agrees, and says that the team has “improved greatly from last year,” and the team unity motivates her to get to the state championship for her final high school season.
