End of May Senior Events

The Class of 2024 is excited about what the future holds for them, but it’s also a bittersweet moment leaving behind Walker. The end of May has ceremonies like Honors Day, Baccalaureate, and Commencement to celebrate Seniors.

Following Baccalaureate and Commencement rehearsals, Seniors will head to the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 16th, for Baccalaureate, where they will experience traditions on this rite of passage, which includes messages from the senior advisors, music, and a blessing.

Following that is Honors Day, on Friday, May 17th, where students are recognized for their accomplishments and hard work throughout the years and given things like medals and awards.

On Saturday, May 18th, is Commencement, the day seniors look forward to. Friends and family gather to celebrate Seniors as they walk across the stage in their gowns to receive their diplomas. One of Walker’s most cherished traditions is to invite alumni who are the parents or siblings of graduating seniors to present diplomas to their family members.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Class of 2024 as they open the next chapter of their life!
