The Bonfire

On March 13th, Walker hosted the annual Bonfire night following the boys’ soccer game. Starting around 10 pm, there was a wide selection of food, including chicken, brownies, and, of course, s’mores. The bonfire lasted close to an hour, with opportunities to socialize and relax around the bonfire. Faculty and students contributed to the atmosphere with food and warm conversations, which, in turn, made the event feel more like a social gathering than a school event.

With an exciting showout, many people from all grades attended and stated it was a great time. Junior, Lorenzo McCorvey, stated he “had a great time seeing everybody and looks forward to it [bonfire] annually”.

The bonfire has become a deeply rooted tradition, and many students look forward to it every year. Events like these help strengthen the bond the Walker community shares, as adults and students come here to enjoy each other’s company and create memories and experiences that grow beyond the classroom.
