Spirit Week Costume Ideas

Get excited Wolverines, Homecoming week is right around the corner! Spirit week is one of the most exciting and hectic times of the year, so don’t be afraid to dress up and show your school spirit.

Kicking off the week right, Monday is Disney Day! We all love the classics such as the beloved Disney princesses and Mickey and Minnie Mouse, but don’t forget the countless other characters! Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore, or the witches from Hocus Pocus are great for group costumes. Fun partner costumes could be Alice in Wonderland and the Cheshire Cat, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, Aladdin and the Genie, or Woody and Buzz Lightyear. If you’re going solo, some fun characters include Hannah Montana, Boy Scout Russell from UP, or the Mad Hatter.

Ready to throw it way back on Tuesday? Back to the Future brings countless costume opportunities, and allows you to represent any past or future year you like! If you want to dress up as a famous musician, icons such as Elvis, Michael Jackson, or Madonna are just a few ideas to name. You can even be a character from your favorite throwback movies such as Clueless, Mean Girls, or Grease!

Ever wanted to channel your inner monster or alien? Wednesday allows you to portray a number of characters such as Sully and Mike Wazowski, Cookie Monster, classic monsters like Dracula or Frankenstein, or villains such as Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Queen of Hearts, or Captain Hook. If you’re leaning more towards aliens, fun options could be E.T., Stitch, or the squeeze toy aliens from Toy Story.

Thursday’s theme is the Polar Express. Let’s face it, the majority of students are going to treat this as pajama day. Why wouldn’t you? However, dare to be different in any of these creative costumes. You can’t go wrong with Mr. or Mrs. Claus; after all, they are the father and mother of Christmas! Other fun options are an elf, reindeer, snowman, or a Christmas tree. If you’re in the true spirit of the Polar Express, the train conductor or Chris (the main character) may be the perfect costume for you.

Don’t forget to show your class spirit and wear your designated color on Friday, and have an awesome Homecoming week!
