After a moderate 2018-19 flu season, flu activity is picking up. 5.31% of patients visiting the doctors during the week of November 18 were for the flu, which is up from the week before were it was only 4.59%.

Australia has had a bad flu season, which had medical experts on alert since it had an earlier-than-usual peak of flu cases. Even though medical experts are on alert, they stress that Australia’s flu season does not always predict the U.S. season. The flu levels right now are higher than the were at this time in the 2017-18 flu season, which was one of the worst seasons on record. Even though the peak of the flu season is from December to February, there is still time to get your flu shot. The CDC says that it takes around 2 weeks for the antibodies to develop in your body.
