Taylor Swift, the queen of all our favorite heart-break anthems has kept us on the edge of our seats for long enough as her new album Midnights was released Friday, October 21st. Midnights contains 13 songs based on stories representing 13 sleepless nights from different times in Taylor’s life. The tracklist includes:

  • 1) ‘Lavender Haze’
  • 2) ‘Maroon’
  • 3) ‘Anti-Hero’
  • 4) ‘Snow On The Beach’ ft. Lana Del Rey’
  • 5) ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’
  • 6) ‘Midnight Rain’
  • 7) ‘Question…?’
  • 8) ‘Vigilante Shit’
  • 9) ‘Bejeweled’
  • 10) ‘Labyrinth’
  • 11) ‘Karma’
  • 12) ‘Sweet Nothing’
  • 13) ‘Mastermind’

I’ve heard many different responses to Midnights. Some people only enjoyed a few songs, while others enjoyed the whole album. Personally, I love the whole album but I do have a few favorite songs. My top 3 would be Anti-Hero, Midnight Rain, and Vigilante sh*t.

With the release of her album, Taylor broke the Spotify record for the most-streamed artist in a single day. With more surprises, Taylor has already put 2 music videos for her album. One for ‘Bejeweled’ and one for ‘Anti-Hero.’ Along with the excitement about the release of her new album Fans have been pointing out easter eggs and conspiracies surrounding Midnights. My favorite conspiracy is from @lawsofnatchure on Twitter.

They shared: “My dumb theory: she said that the songs were written at different times in her life.”

“Each color represents an era. Green for debut, blue for 1989, red for Red, yellow for Fearless.”

“Corresponding numbers are songs written from specific era, track 1 & 2 from 1989 era.”

“Track 3 from between 1989 and Red era. Track 4 and 5 from Red era. Track 6 from in between Red and Fearless era. Track 7 and 8 from Fearless era. track 9 from between Fearless and debut era. Track 10 and 11 from debut era, and track 12 and 13 from now.”

Overall Taylor has taken pop culture by storm again with her album Midnights standing at #1. She even just announced she’s going on Tour!!!! You will definitely be seeing me there. Through her different eras growing as an artist, Taylor never fails to create relatable, fun pieces for everyone to enjoy. Personally, my favorite era from Taylor would have to be ‘Red’. What’s yours? And how would you rate her new album?
