Shillings on the Square, the local pub and restaurant on the Marietta Square, has sold and closed after 41 years of service. Since then, it had become a popular site for locals to dine in and socialize, helping shape what Marietta is today. Many residents, including Governor Brian Kemp, are sad to see this restaurant go, but the new owner, Randy McCray, has started making changes as soon as the agreement was finalized. Renovations to upgrade the interior and repair the kitchen will be made, with possible private-dining upstairs. Although it is sad to see the original Shillings go, positive changes are expected to be coming up soon.
